Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream Review

Eye Cream is not so new addition to my skincare. I've started incorporating it as part of my skincare routine for more than a year now when I discovered Korean skincare. I had really simple routine before and eye cream was not included. I noticed eye cream is "a must product" for Korean women. I thought it was not a necessity before but since I'm now 30 years old, I need to prevent or fight the signs of aging so I know eye cream would be vital for my skin. I knew about eye cream through a Korean youtuber, Joan Kim. This is her no. 1 pick out of the eye creams she tried even choosing this over a whooping $200 worth counterpart. If you are curious to see the video she made you can click here.

I trust her since I've been watching her reviews for awhile now so when I needed a new eye cream, this was next in line. I was using the Su:m37˚ Flawless Regenerating Eye Cream from testerkorea which I fell inlove with when I got it as a free sample before. I loved it so much I ordered four sets of it. It comes in 10 x 1ml packs so it lasted for a long time. I divide a pack for two uses. It is perfect for travelling that's why I loved it so much plus the quality is superb. I wanted to try a full size version but from a different brand that is not as pricey as the Su:m37˚ one so I chose this from Innisfree since my fave youtuber loves this a lot so why not.

I will quote a paragraph from webmd which explains a bit why we need an eye cream:

"The skin around the eyes is more fragile, more prone to dryness, and quicker to show age and fatigue. Squinting and constant movement of the eyes also hasten the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and fluids collect under the eyes and cause puffiness and dark circles. Eye creams can address some of these issues."

I'm not so particular with ingredients but I included it incase you wanted to know. To know more click here.

So here how it looks when you open it. It is sealed good so you know no one touched it so the inside is safe. I hate it when a product is not sealed because people will open, smell  or worse touch it so it will be in contaminated.

So here is the product upclose. It's not full since I've used it for almost 2 months now and forgot to take a picture when I just opened it. For the smell, it does smell a bit of an orchid but just a hint of it, not overpowering or anything like that. I kinda like the smell actually.

The consistency of this product is really thin. It really feels like a cheap lotion from nivea. I prefer a thick type almost balm type of consistency like from the Su:m37˚ one which feels so luxurious and that's why I'm really disappointed with this one from Innisfree.

You see here how thin the formula is. It's even thinner than my sunscreen!

It absorbs really quickly! And I don't feel very hydrated after. It is almost invisible although you see a bit that it brightens my under eyes but that's it. When applied on the eyelids, I'm not really wowed by it, there's nothing really special about it.
Before

After
Verdict: I'm not really happy with this product. I had high hopes but it let me down big time. What maybe the best for other people does not necessarily will work on you. But at least I've tried it and move on after when I finished it. I won't recommend it but maybe it will work for you. If you like a thin consistency for an eye cream that absorbs quickly, this might be good for you. As for their claim "to makes skin glowing and radiant while strengthening" - yes, it gives radiance but does not last long and I'm not sure about strengthening. I don't really feel it does that. "Plentiful nutrition makes the skin texture more healthy by reducing wrinkles, increasing elasticity, and improving the skin tone." - I don't really notice wrinkles under my eyes but I do have smile lines where I also apply this cream but it is still there and not really helping to reduce it. I don't really have very dark under eyes so I can't really tell if it will improve the tone but it can brighten it up once applied."Grips the skin and makes the eye areas smoother." - I can say it smooths the area out but most of the eye creams do that so nothing really new.

Will I repurchase? Definitely, NOT. There are alot of eye creams out there that are more effective. I'm still in a hunt for a budget friendly alternative before forking out for a higher end brand. So if you have any suggestions, please let me know!
