Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation Review

This brand has been in my wishlist the moment I was into "Clean Beauty" products. As you have noticed, I have been trying more clean beauty products because I want to minimize using my old makeup products that have more toxic ingredients on my skin. Clean beauty is more expensive compared to the drugstore or even highend brands at times because they use better and high quality ingredients that are beneficial to our skin and are nontoxic. That's why when I discovered clean beauty, I want to try more and replace my old makeup products as much as I can.

This foundation really intrigued me because this is one of the most talked about clean beauty product. Aside from the innovative packaging, this brand is also eco friendly since they use refill system so you don't buy everytime the products but only the refills which I appreciate.

I love the attention for details with the packaging. All their products are housed in this elegant red box. It feels highend and top of the class. The main packaging of the foundation is metal that is very weighty and swirls which I really love the idea of. It has the name and initials op the founder engraved on it which looks beautiful as well.

They also have different version of the packaging like the Red version which are just paper like the box packaging so it can be recyclable as well and much lighter so perfect for travelling and much cheaper compared to the metal versions.

In most of their products, you see at the back that their is this little circle hole that you can insert a pin to push the pan so you can replace it with a refill when it is done. It is magnetic so you don't worry that the pans will not be secured. I really love this idea because I can use the packaging for a long time and not buy the same thing all the time. The metal packaging is well made and you would really feel that it will last for years. You will pay more once but after you just need to pay for the refill. It is better for the environment and I'm glad that they took that for consideration.

FOUNDATION SILKEN (certified organic)

Mica , Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Seed Oil·, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil·, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch·, Cera Alba (Beeswax)·, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax·, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil·, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil·, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glyceryl Stearate, Talc, Gallic Acid May Contain +/- CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491(Iron Oxides), CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77492 (Iron Oxides)

The founder is a Danish makeup artist and thought of making makeup products that is good for the skin because of lot of the models that she worked with said that they can't wait to take off their makeup. And so with in mind, this brand was born. Some of the products are organically grown and from the highest quality organic ingredients.

Alot of people also complaining about the Coconut oil they included in the ingredients because it clogs the pores and causes them breakouts. They said with the kind of price, they should have not included coconut oil but for me it does not really affect my skin but I can see why it is not for everybody. It really depends on your skin. They also added Mica which critics said that are harvested near an asbestos in the natural setup where you normally get them. Which is disappointing if that really is true and I hope they would look for an alternative for it. I can't say more about it and I need to research about that more.

The formula is really dry and not pleasant when you apply it without a primer. A normal primer won't work because this is not a creamy formula at all which is a bit disappointing because you need to spend more for it to work. I did not buy the recommended face oil from this brand because it is so expensive. Over €100 which is crazy. I bought an alternative from a Clean beauty brand as well which is the Lilah B. Aglow Priming Oil. It really glides better when you use an oil based priming oil. I can use my finger or sponge for this but I prefer the sponge because it is faster. I can also use this as a concealer so I just layer it and does not look cakey which is great. This only works for me in the summer because of the formula. This will be too drying in the winter months for sure. This would be perfect for oily skin type because it does not add glow whatsoever. I am enjoying it still now because it is still warm here in Belgium.

The shade matches me good which is great. They offer 16 shades so hopefully, you will find a shade match for you. For a clean beauty brand, they offer good shade range which I applaud the for. The scent does not bother me, it is more herbal smelling which is a bit comforting when you smell it. It is expensive but I feel the quality and what is important for me is that it is nontoxic and much better for my skin. I do recommend this and I will surely use this as much and long as I can if my skin permits. It is not the best out there but hopefully they will reformulate this in the future or will produce an hydrating type.
