L'Oréal Paris Récital Préférence in 3 Brasilia Dark Brown Review

 L'Oréal Paris Récital Préférence Brasilia

I've been wanting to dye my hair since last year because my hair had grown and the roots, middle part and the ends of my hair were in different colors. It wasn't so bad because I had an ombre which was not really done properly because it was my first time do dye my own hair and didn't know how to do it correctly. But because it is an ombre/highlight type, I didn't really made a straight kind of line like the normal one but I just chose some parts of my hair so it looked like balayage. And then of course my hair grew and the roots became more obvious which was a bit annoying to look at if you have 3 kinds of color on your hair and it is really obvious because I did had a light brown color and then copper highlights plus an ombre which in the long run gets lighter and lighter and I didn't like it anymore. For budget purposes I wanted to just dye my own hair and I saw my mother-in-law dyed her hair and it seemed very easy to do plus I have searched alot of video tutorials in youtube so why not try it myself. I chose the L'Oréal Paris Récital Préférence line because I had a good experience with the Ombre kit from them so I wanted to try this but with darker color. I didn't want to have a black one because everytime I get my hair dyed black, it looks like I am wearing a wig and it just feels not right for me. I didn't want a light brown because it is too much work when it grows because it will get obvious and I need to retouch it which I tried before but didn't work so I chose as close as black but lighter and this was the perfect choice for me the number 3 Brasilia from this line. There was a promo when I bought it in Di Gent but I think until Feb 28 they have 10% per product plus minus €4 when you buy two products which was perfect because I needed two anyway for my very thick hair so it was very timely.

You will get 4 products from it plus a pair of gloves and an instruction guide. It is very easy to follow. I followed the suggestion of a youtuber. Her tutorial is the most helpful, easy and thorough that I can find and I just followed what she did and used and it went really good and smooth sailing. During application I felt a bit stingy sensation but bearable, the smell is a bit strong when you apply it near to your face so an open window is a must. It is kinda messy so you need to cover your surroundings and the floor. The application was really easy and it didn't take long then you need to wait for 30 mins then you wash it off and then use the conditioner as the end step and then wash it and voila it is done!

The result is amazing! I couldn't be happier. If you seen my last post. You can see that I had really lighter hair at the bottom part of my hair and everything was gone. No traces of the ombre at all! At first I thought it won't be totally gone but boy I am really surprised with the result. My hair is so shiny and although my hair is not as quite the same color from the box with my pictures below but in person you would really see the dark brown tint especially under the sunlight and when I look closely to my hair. But also I have  black hair so that might explain why it looks darker. I am really pleased with this product and I would definitely do this again and again. I won't be afraid anymore and also big thanks to the video tutorial that I saw that made everything so easy for me.

I would highly recommend this product and color if you want to color your hair dark but not totally black. After more than a week, my hair still looks like this and the color really stays good. I would still see if it would really stay upto 6 weeks. I really think L'Oréal Paris masters every hair products they make and this one is not an exception. I don't need to pay so much to achieve this amazing result and the quality and performance is superb. I think I would stick to L'Oréal products for my hair from now on because they really don't disappoint.

Have you tried dyeing your own hair too?

  1. Did your hair fade after 6 weeks of dyeing it? I'm curious as I'm thinking of using this!

    1. Hi! I'm so sorry for replying this late. I just saw your comment now after 3 years. 😅 I don't think it was fading significantly after 6 weeks that I can notice since my hair is dark and I didn't had gray hairs that time that's why it's not so obvious.

  2. Thank you so much for posting this! I was so unsure what exactly brasilia would look like once applied (boxes can be misleading), but now I see that it looks utterly lovely.
